A TEAM of dads from north Shropshire and south Cheshire are set to take on a charity climb of the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales.

Tim Copping, Matt Hollins, Marc Wright, Chris Brereton and Darren Jones will also have the added challenge of completing the mammoth task in just 24 hours.

For the men, this means walking 26 miles, climbing over 11,000 feet and travelling 914 miles to Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon on the weekend of July 6 and 7.

The dads are being ably assisted the driving support team of Vicky Hollins and Sarah Wright.

The challenge is in aid of the Wingate Special Children’s Trust near Nantwich, Cheshire – an independent charity devoted to enriching the lives of children and young people with disabilities that requires more than £300,000 a year from private funding to survive.

Tim Copping, the expedition leader said: “We dreamt up this idea of supporting the Wingate Centre through the National Three Peaks Challenge over a quiet pint in a local Whitchurch pub and before we knew it, we were fully committed.

"It’s for a wonderful local cause and the work the trust do and the facilities they provide change the lives of so many people, so any donation will be kindly received."
