It has been a fantastic first week for Whitchurch's Curtis Pritchard on reality TV show Love Island.

The 23-year-old dancer, whose parent runs a dance school in Burleydam, made a shock entrance to the Spanish villa at the end of the opening episode last Monday.

The following night viewers saw him 'couple up' with air hostess Amy Hart and since then he has quickly become viewers' sweetheart thanks to his kind nature, quirky behaviour and support for other contestants.

However, comedian Joel Dommett questioned how long the couple will be happy for when he appeared on the show's spin-off review, Love Island Aftersun.

For those unfamiliar with ITV's Love Island, the show sends a group of singletons into a villa in the hope they will find love. But in a cruel twist - similar to musical chairs - if you're not in a couple at the crucial time you get 'dumped' from the island.

After a week which has seen little drama for Curtis, Friday night's episode saw the first 'recoupling' in which Amy unsurprisingly chose him. This means his position in the villa is certain at least for the next few days.
