Friday market

Whitchurch Friday Market has been operating for more than 60 years. The Market takes place every Friday from 7.30am until12.30pm in the heart of Whitchurch, both inside and outside the Civic Centre and market hall.

They have a wide range of products on offer from fresh fruit and vegetables, bacon, sausages, fresh fish, homemade cakes, preserves and pies to books, watches, flowers, greetings cards and CDs.

Hot drinks, breakfast items and baked goods are available at very reasonable prices.

You will be sure to pick up a bargain at Whitchurch Friday Market.

Flicks in the Sticks

Feel-good larkiness film ‘Swimming With Men’ (12a) is the next Flicks in the Sticks on the big screen at The Talbot Theatre, Whitchurch Leisure Centre, on Tuesday, June 18 at 7.30pm.

Starring Rob Brydon as accountant Eric who joins a group of stuck-in-the-rut men who find camaraderie through synchonised swimming.

They may be a bit paunchy but are determined to prove they have what it takes to be a whirling, twirling, scissor-kicking aquatic dream team.

Then on Tuesday, July 9 at 7.30pm there will be a screening of ‘Fisherman’s Friends’ (12a) about the ten fishermen from Cornwall who are signed by Universal records and achieve a top ten hit with their debut album Sea Shanties.

Surgery drop-in

Hatchers will be holding its legal drop-in surgery at Beechtree Community Centre, in Claypit Street.

The surgery is held every third Tuesday of each month from 1-4pm, and experts are on hand to discuss legal queries.

Pop in to see them with any issues you may need help with.

Whitchurch Walkers

The walkers will be out and about for the chairman’s Midsummer walk led by Neil Moore.

Meet at Sherry Mill Hill car park at 7pm on June 19.

Come and join them on our annual meander of many paths finishing at a local hostelry for drinks. A special walk to look forward to.
