Whitchurch Rotary Club has been busy in action with a number of events and presentations over the last few weeks.

This week, the club came together with neighbours from Wem to receive funds towards lifeline alarms for the elderly as Peter Broomhall, from Wem, presented Roly Wyatt, from Whitchurch, with a cheque for £200 towards the costs of the alarms.

Meanwhile, the Rotary Club will be holding its first ever Dog Show at Alderford on Sunday between 12pm and 3.30pm.

Rotary representative Peggy Mullock said there will be plenty of options for owners.

She said: “There will be displays by Aticia dog training and the Leon Bierger dogs. Judging will be courtesy of Leonard Vets, with entries on the day at £1 per class.

“Owners will be able to take the opportunity to enter the Kennel Club Bronze test for a small fee and take advantage of having a portrait of your dog as well. Just a few of the classes, waggiest tail, prettiest bitch, handsome dog to name a few!

“Plenty of free car parking and scrumptious food in the Alderford cafe. Any queries call 07866 805728.”
