CHILDREN from Whitchurch have been beginning the long journey to cricket 'stardom' by taking part in training sessions at Whitchurch Cricket Club.
The sessions, held on Thursday evenings between 5.30pm and 6.15pm are part of Cricket All Stars, an official England and Wales Cricket Board programme to get youngsters into the sport.
Youngsters from across the town received an introduction to the sport, as they took the chance to bat, bowl and field under the supervision of coach Tracy Heath.
In an added element of fun, children taking part in the session also got to meet the All Stars mascot, Twinkle the Star.
