ART fanatics in Wem have been showing off their creations in the annual Wem Art Society display.

Members of the society hail from all parts of Shropshire, but meet at the senior club in Wem to practice their craft.

The exhibition, held at St Peter and St Paul's Parish Church Hall in High Street, gives members a chance to show their works, as well as make some money at the same time.

The society has been running for several years, but exhibitors Val Brown and Sheila Heeney have only been attending for around two years.

"There's about 30 of us," said Sheila. "There's no teacher, we just do all sorts of things.

"It's a nice group. We do this as a yearly thing, and hopefully make some sales at the same time."

Wem Art Society meet weekly on Tuesday afternoons in the Senior Club in Chapel Street. The group is a mixture of all ages, and take part in regular workshops and trips out.
