A BRONZE bust depicting the Ellesmere-born Save the Children founder, is unveiled at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The statue of Eglantyne Jebb has been revealed to the public to mark the centenary of Save the Children which was founded on May 19, 1919.
It was at the Royal Albert Hall that Ellesmere sisters Eglantyne Jebb and Dorothy Buxton launched the charity at the end of the First World War.
Lionel Jebb, Ms Jebb’s great-nephew, attended the unveiling event along with Clare Mulley, author of the founder’s biography 'The Woman who Saved the Children’.
Clare's husband, artist Ian Wolter, created the design which was unveiled by TV personality and Save the Children ambassador, Natasha Kaplinsky.
