CHARITIES will have the chance to showcase what work and support they offer at an annual event next month.

The summer Charity Market, organised by Qube, returns to the Bailey Head in Oswestry on Friday, June 7.

The charity is inviting shoppers in the town to visit the stalls to find out information and learn about the support each of the charities offer.

Stalls are now fully-booked, with around 30 charities attending the event.

Organised by Qube and Oswestry Town Council, the event is a celebration of National Volunteers Week.

There will be a mixture of local and national charities in attendance for people to find out more about.

Qube will be welcoming along some familiar faces like the Alzheimer's Society, Homestart Shropshire and Nightingale House and some new organisations like Oswestry and Borders Extinction Rebellion.

Qube volunteering officer, Kim Thompson Lawrence, said the Charity Market was a popular event with shoppers as well as the charities themselves.

She said: “The Charity Market is a really popular event with the charities and the public.

“The charities get a chance to raise their profile, raise money and hopefully sign-up some new volunteers while the visitors get to find out loads information in one place about what services there are locally and can pick up a bargain.

“We’re very grateful to Oswestry Town Council for working with us again to stage the event, hopefully the sun will be shining on us again this year.”

The Charity Market takes place on Friday, June 7 at the Bailey Head, Oswestry, from 9am to 2pm.
