Walkers around Malpas and beyond can take part in a trek that can help raise money for charity.
Canon Ian Davenport and the Reverend Helen Molesworth are inviting people you to sponsor them or join them on the 'Rector’s Ramble' on Saturday, June 8 as they walk between Bickerton, Malpas and Threapwood churches.
The walk is a mission to share community spirit and raise funds for the United Benefice of St Oswald’s, Malpas with St John’s, Threapwood and Holy Trinity Bickerton while Canon Davenport and Revd Helen are looking for sponsors as they split up to join in a community walk along two routes from Threapwood and Bickerton to Malpas.
“We are hoping everyone will join or sponsor us in this community walk,” says Chris Whitehurst who is working with Rachael Reeves, Sue Norwood and others to prepare for the event.
If you would like to join in and collect your own sponsors for our local churches – you can choose between a longer or shorter walk:
Route one meets at Bickerton Village Hall at 9.30 am and is approximately eight miles.
Route two meets at St John’s Church in Threapwood at 10.30am and is around 4.5 miles. The walks will end at St Oswald’s Church in Malpas for refreshments.
