Little Theatre

Whitchurch Little Theatre is back on the road next month for its annual Summer Tour and audiences will definitely be in for an evening of laughs.

First stop is Tilstock Village Hall on Tuesday, June 11, then The Talbot Theatre at Whitchurch Leisure Centre on June 12, followed by Marbury Village Hall on June 13 and ending up at Bickerton Village Hall on June 14.

The evening will include three short comedies, Bride Before a Fall by Robert Scott, Between Mouthfuls by Alan Ayckbourn then All By Myself by Robert Scott.

All are very funny plays each lasting about 25 minutes and the cast includes Steve Chapman, Nigel Davies, Alan Scutt, Vicky Smith, Katie Goddard, Karin Goddard, Sarah Radford, David Gillespie, Mike and Jenny Matthews,

Threapwood agenda

Threapwood Parish Council will be holding its annual parish meeting on Wednesday, May 15.

There will be reports from the community group, history group, garden trail and the Malpas Community Land Trust.

There will then be an open forum for residents to comment on any parish matter.

Following the annual parish meeting, the council will hold its regular meeting with the election of a chairman, a vice chairman as well as making a declaration of interests for councillors.

They will also consider a number of issues, including planning, highways and a speed gun which is Malpas.

Wem Town Hall will be holding a series of fun and free sessions for people aged 55 years plus exploring creative uses of technology – no experience or kit needed.

Come along and have a play with digital photography, drawing with iPads, make a film, animation or radio podcast.

Lifeboat

The Whitchurch branch of the RNLI would lie to thank everyone who contributed so generously to the charity's May Day collection in Whitchurch on Friday, May 3.

A total of £470-88 was collected towards the local fundraising for the lifeboats and equipment for the volunteer crews.
