SHROPSHIRE residents are being reminded of changes to their recycling and waste collection dates following the early May bank holiday weekend.

Recycling and waste will be collected a day later following the bank holiday – for one week only.

As a result of the early May bank holiday, collections that would normally be made on Monday, May 6 will instead be made on Tuesday, May 7, continuing like this throughout the week with collections that would normally be made on Friday, May 10 being made on Saturday, May 11.

Collections will return to normal on Monday, May 13.

Any residents unsure about which day they should put out their recycling or waste, or wanting more information about how to recycle, are asked to check their collection calendar or their council’s website at www.telford.gov.uk/recycling or www.shropshire.gov.uk/binday

Tim Walters, Communications Manager at Veolia, said: “I would also like to remind people who may be having a clear out that the Household Recycling Centres are open as usual over the bank holiday weekend from 9am-5pm each day.”
