WHITCHURCH Hear Here Group meets on Tuesday, May 7 at 2pm in the Senior Club, Pearl Yard, Whitchurch.

The speaker will be from Age UK and everyone is welcome.

We have an outing on Tuesday, June 4 to Trentham Gardens, leaving the car park by Tesco at 10am. Cost is £10 and we have seats available if anyone would like to join us. Please ring Bernice on 01948 664866 if you are interested.

THE Queensway Playing Fields Association is holding an annual general meeting on May 2 at 7.30 at Dodington Lodge in Dodington.

Wedding showcase

WHITCHURCH’S popular Alderford Lake will be having a wedding showcase on Sunday and Monday from 11am to 3pm.

There will be an opportunity to view the stunning venue in an amazing location while plenty of wedding experts will be on hand to guide couples getting ready for their big day.

Messy Church

MESSY Church is a fun time for families held in Bargates Hall on a Sunday afternoon from 3-4.30pm, bi-monthly.

Crafts, songs, stories, food (usually tea/coffee/juice and biscuits or cakes. Children must be accompanied by an adult but adults can come alone.

Walking festival

THE Whitchurch Walkers are gearing up to their latest annual Whitchurch Walking Festival, which is between May 10-12.

They will be providing three days of walking opportunities and activities that will provide you with the opportunity to explore Whitchurch and the surrounding countryside. There will be eight walks on Friday, some involving a boat trip on the canal, seven on Saturday and eight on Sunday.

Also there will be a variety of interest walks, ranging from poetry, ironfounders, photography and nature walks. Evening entertainment will include a film and a folk session on Friday evening as well as a ceilidh for everybody to have an enjoyable evening on Saturday

Plant Sale

THE Hollies Tennis Club, in Tarporley Road, is holding its plant sale on Saturday from 10am until 12noon.

All are welcome to join in and there will be plants grown by members, while refreshments will be made available.

Visitors are welcome to watch the tennis coaching and all monies raised will go towards the club.

THE next Makers Market in Whitchurch will be on Saturday.
