AT THE last Flower Club meeting on Monday, April 15 our demonstrator was Arthur McDonald from Bury with a title of ‘Serendipity’ (the faculty of making unexpected but desirable discoveries).

His arrangements were inspiring and the flowers were wonderful.

They included roses, carnations, anthuriums, lillies, chrysanthemums, delphiniums, gerbera, and wonderful orchids in different shades.

The arrangement were in different colours – purple, pink, bronze, white for Easter and blue and gold.

His final arrangement was very contemporary and very wacky, using Afro-Caribbean fabric with multi-coloured gerberas.

Arthur was very funny and kept us entertained all afternoon.

Our next meeting is on Monday, May 20 when the demonstrator will be Kate Russell from the Wirral with a title ‘A Floral Scrapbook’.

Visitors are always welcome at a cost of £5 including tea and biscuits.

The club meets at the Jubilee Hall in the High Street in Malpas, and for those considering a longer-term relationship with the club can pay £30 a year for an annual subscription.
