ELLESMERE Rotary Club has been helping people keep an eye on their health.

In the past month the club have also inducted a new member and donated to charitable causes at home and further afield.

The club organised a health awareness morning at Tesco in Ellesmere on Saturday as part of a drive by Rotary District 1210 to promote better health.

Two medical professionals from Rowlands Chemists, Tracy Jones and Lynn Shore, plus paramedic Phil Harrison took blood pressure readings from 116 people and gave out any necessary advice as a result of their findings.

Graham Hutchinson, president elect of Ellesmere Rotary Club, said: "The club is very grateful to Tesco for allowing the event to take place, and to the three medical professionals, who generously gave up their time to provide this important service."

The Rotary Club have also introduced a new member to the fold, David Baldwin as well as making a donation to Wrexham based organisation Home Start.

The club made the donation to Home Start in appreciation of their work. And recently the club have also dispatched a donation of £300 to help with the consequences of Cyclone Idai in east Africa.
