ROADWORKS are in place on the A495 near Ellesmere to repair damage to a barrier.
Earlier this week a barrier on the Newton bends was heavily damaged, following a collision from an unknown vehicle.
While Shropshire Council say the barriers did their job in preventing a vehicle from leaving the road, the heavy damage necessitated repairs.
It is not known how long the roadworks will be in place.
Chris Fisher, Shropshire Council’s highways manager – north west, said: “A crash barrier was struck by a vehicle on the A495 at Newton Bends near Welshampton this week.
"The crash barrier prevented the vehicle leaving the road.
"There are currently temporary traffic lights at this location; these lights will stay in place until a permanent repair can be carried out.”
