A man has died this morning following a collision on the A5 near Gobowen.
The collision between the man's car and a lorry happened at around 12.30am on the A5 near the junction with the B5009.
The man was confirmed dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said an ambulance and paramedic attended.
They added: "There was one sole occupant in the car, a man. Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
Carraigeway now reopened in both directions from #A5 between #Gobowen roundabout #B5009 and #Gledrid services following a serious incident.

“The lorry driver was uninjured in the incident.”
Police are awaiting formal identification but are appealing for witnesses.
A spokesperson said: "Anyone who saw the collision is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident nine of March 20, 2019.
"The road is likely to be closed for some time between the B5069 (Orthopaedic) roundabout and the B5070 (Gledrid) roundabout."
Traffic Wales confirmed at about 10.50am that the road had re-opened.
