Councillors in Whitchurch will be asked to consider correspondence from their counterparts in Wem, believed to concern parking in north Shropshire, at its meeting on Thursday.

It is believed the letter, one of many written and sent to councils across the north of the county, is to call for support in challenging parking charge increases in areas where there are fewer people compared to south Shropshire where there are more people but lower charges.

At Wem's last meeting, on February 28, councillors voted to send letters to Whitchurch, Markey Drayton and Ellesmere, and members of Whitchurch Town Council will be asked whether they wish to add their voice to the complaints.

The meeting, which starts at 7.15pm in the Edward German Room in the town's Civic Centre, will also have a public participation session at the start, lasting for 15 minutes.

In what appears to be a relatively light agenda, councillors will also receive a presentation from Anton Benson, from Anton Benson Productions regarding proposed date for the Christmas Pantomime.

In addition, the dates for the pantomime this Christmas will also be approved.

The finance committee's recommendations for the 2019/20 grants will also be revealed.

Minutes from four council committees will also be put forward for consideration and approval, including Planning, Parks and Public realm, Civic Centre and Personnel, which promises to come under scrutiny following recent events.

The council will aim to fill current vacancies on the committees fro Entertainment and Events, and Heritage while the former has request that its next meeting starts at 5pm.

Councillors will be asked to consider the recommendation to full council that Beechtree Community Centre can take on the management of Blackmore Grove public space off Claypit Street and Alport Road.

The minutes of the Whitchurch Joint Cemetery Board, held on March 6, will also be reviewed, as will cemetery regulations while councillors will also discuss the future structure of Party in the Park.
