A Whitchurch cricket coach is looking forward to the opportunity of furthering his career when he starts work at a prestigious school next month.

James Wojda, who is head coach at Whitchurch Cricket Club, will start at Wrekin College in Wellington, Shropshire, in a similar role.

The coach was delighted with the move but insists he wills till be committed to helping youngsters at the Heath Road club.

"I am extremely excited and grateful for being given this opportunity at Wrekin college," said James.

"I have worked extremely hard to get to where I am and being given a head coaching role at Wrekin college is a massive stepping stone.

"I see this role as a huge challenge and I hope that I can be as successful with Wrekin as I have been with other clubs and teams.

"I will also be staying in my role at Whitchurch cricket club as head of junior cricket and owner of JRWcoaching.

"I’d just like to thank everyone who has sent messages via social media nothing goes unnoticed."
