AN INQUEST has been opened into the death of a woman who died after a crash on the main road between Whitchurch and Wrexham.

John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, opened an inquest in the death of Tracy Pritchard, a domestic cleaner from Applewood Heights in West Felton, near Oswestry, Shropshire and formerly of Whitchurch.

Mr Gittins told an inquest opening, held in Ruthin, that the 48-year-old had sustained serious injuries in the incident on February 19 and was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital but did not recover.

Mrs Pritchard died on February 22 following a crash involving a blue BMW X3, a Daihatsu Sirion and a horse on the A495 at Bronington.

A full inquest will be held later in the year.

North Wales Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision.
