There were plenty of tasty treats for supports of a spring coffee morning in aid of Hope House Children’s Hospice on Saturday.

The event at Ellesmere Town Hall raised funds for the charity through a £1 entry fee, cake sales, stalls and a prize raffle.

Lynsey Kilvert, fundraiser for Hope House, said it was all down to the town’s Friends of Hope House group, who host coffee mornings twice a year.

She said: “This group also host lots of different events for us throughout the year.

“They have been going for about 12 years and it’s all volunteers doing things in their own time.

“These groups are fantastic for raising awareness of the charity, but also bringing people along to events like this.

“We’ve a had good turnout this morning and I’d like to thank the Friends group, everyone who has turned out this morning for their support and also Ellesmere College for their cake donations.”
