A WHITCHURCH woman was recently the recipient of an award for her dedication to helping others
Phyl Cliff, from Belton Road in Whitchurch, received her award from the blood transfusion service for giving 100 units of blood over the last 60 years.
Mrs Cliff started giving blood when she was 18.
She was accompanied by her eldest son Phillip Cliff when they attended a luncheon ceremony at the Park House Hotel in Shifnal on Tuesday, February 12 where she was presented with the framed award
The award for Mrs Cliff, who has lived in Belton Rd Whitchurch since 1963, was a triple celebration for her and her son as she has recently celebrated her 78th birthday on February 10, while it was also Phillip's 55th birthday on February 12 – the day of the ceremony.
Her son said: "Mum was very proud to receive the award for a service she passionately contributes to."
