POLICE have issued a further warning for aviation fans regarding parking and road safety after an accident occurred on Thursday afternoon.

Officers confirmed that the incident occurred due to “inconsiderate road users”.

A spokesman for South Flintshire Police said: “We appreciate this will draw a lot of attention, however, please will all road users be considerate of where they park.

“This is not a police event, however, we will be at the scene to try and assist with traffic flow.”

Hundreds gathered on Valentine’s Day when the extra-large version of the Beluga plane landed at Hawarden, making it the first visit to the UK as part of its 12-month testing programme.

The BelugaXL will carry out ground tests all day Friday and is due to depart from Hawarden’s aerodrome on Saturday at around lunchtime – however this is subject to change on the day.

Airbus officials are once again suggesting that spectators wishing to see the plane leave should head to the Chocks Away Diner which overlooks the runway.

Additional limited parking will be provided at the front entrance of Airbus and there are limited parking options on Manor Lane offering a great vantage point.
