Wem Town hall is set to host one of the UK's leading young chamber ensembles.

A4 Brass Quartet, who are based at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, are made up of principal players from some of the UK's leading brass bands, including the world famous Grimethorpe Colliery and Foden’s bands.

The quartet has a unique blend of instruments, with a cornet, tenor horn, baritone and euphonium creating a distinctive sound that stands out from the standard brass quartet.

They recently appeared on BBC Radio 3's 'In-Tune' evening show, as well as ITV's Christmas concert.

Emma Bedford, marketing and events assistant at Wem Town Hall, welcomes them.

She said: "Their lyrical and high-octane works form a distinctive, new and fresh take on chamber music making it enjoyable for all ages and music tastes.”

They will play in Wem on February 15 – tickets are £10, under-25s £5 and £1 for under-19s.
