Wem Town Council will be holding a special meeting on Thursday regarding the budget for 2019-20.
The main part of the meeting will be to discuss aspects of the budget for the forthcoming year, including considering contribution requests received from larger organisations running services or
facilities within the town.
These include Wem Swimming and Lifestyle Centre, Friends of Whitchurch Road
Cemetery, Wem Youth Club, Wem Christmas Lights Festival, Wem Sports and Social
Association, Millennium Green.
The meeting will also discuss Wem Town Hall Trust and consider Trustee’s response to Service Level Agreement discussions and agree a contribution.
They will then move onto considering the town council budget for 2019-2020.
Also on the agenda is the town council precept; councillors will be expected to agree how much Wem will request from Shropshire Council's council tax intake for the area.
Councillors will also be asked to confirm fees and charges for Love Lane Cemetery and for Love Lane.
Community grants will also be confirmed at the meeting, which will be in the Roden Suite in Edinburgh House in New Street, at 7pm.
