IT HAS only been available in bakeries for fewer than two weeks, but the vegan sausage roll is already out of stock in Oswestry!

The new meat and dairy-free snack was launched in the first week of January at around half of Greggs’ 1,850 UK stores, and they’ve proved to be a big hit.

Oswestry’s Greggs store on Church Street has become one of the recent stores to run out of the new vegan treat.

Despite scrutiny from TV presenter Piers Morgan, the new product has been flying off the shelves and satisfying vegans old and new across the country.

A sign at the store indicates that they hope to get some more vegan sausage rolls back in stock as soon as possible.

A spokesman for Greggs said: “We’ve had an overwhelming response to our new Vegan Sausage Roll, bigger than we anticipated which is why it is sold out in some shops.

“We’re working hard behind the scenes to have more back in shops as soon as we can, we hope this should be in the next week.”
