SONGS from the shows are set to raise the roof at Ellesmere College.
The annual Midwinter Concert at 7.30pm on Saturday, February 2 will this year focus on musicals with songs from across the ages.
It will feature the choirs and soloists of Ellesmere College and the Porthywaen Silver Band.
The audience will be entertained with songs from well-loved musicals including Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof and The Wizard of Oz, as well as numbers from newer musicals such as Wicked, Avenue Q and Chess.
The event is being organised to raise funds for Age UK North Shropshire Supporters and St Mary’s Church, Ellesmere.
Anne Wignall, president of Age UK Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, said: “We are really looking forward to an evening of toe-tapping music and there will be plenty of opportunity for members of the audience to join in with the community singing.”
Tickets cost £7.50 – including a glass of wine and juice – from Ismay’s Fashions, Ellesmere; Ann Harris on 01691 622 163; or from Blakemere Veterinary Centre on 01691 622 201.
