THE biggest win in the first postcode lottery weekly draw of 2019 went to seven lucky residents near Whitchurch.
Higher Heath residents had a great start to the year when their postcode came up trumps on Thursday, January 3.
The seven residents picked up £1,000 of lottery cash each as they were announced as Daily Prize winners with People’s Postcode Lottery.
People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt offered her congratulations to the winners and said: “It’s incredible to see 26 people have landed a lovely windfall which will definitely help with any January blues! I hope they treat themselves to something special with the win.”
Elsewhere, Six Redbrink Crescent residents in Barry, South Wales, had a thousand reasons to celebrate on New Year’s Day when their postcode landed them the cash.
The winners on Wednesday were in Neyland, when four neighbours in Riverside Avenue the tidy sum.
With a minimum of 32 per cent from every ticket going to charity, players of People’s Postcode Lottery have now raised £382 million for more than 5,500 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
Many local charities have benefited from players support, and the next opportunity to apply for funding will be in February 2019.
