Staff at Whitchurch’s Leonard Brothers Veterinary Centre (LBVC), in Brownlow Street, are celebrating after raising hundreds of pounds for a vital charity that helps rehome older dogs.
The competition, held in the run-up to Christmas, was won in the Whitchurch branch by practice manager Nicky Smith with her ‘twas the night before Christmas’.
There was also a competition at LBVC’s Wistaston branch in Cheshire.
Nicky was delighted with the response from the company’s Facebook following, who voted in high numbers, to raise £286.51 for the club.
She said: “We had a staff bake off in the build-up to Christmas to raise funds for the Oldies Club.
“The Oldies Club is a dog rescue, run solely by volunteers, that specialises in rescuing and rehoming older dogs – aged seven years plus.
“Thank you to everyone who came in to both practices to buy cake, and also thank you to everyone who voted for their favourite on Facebook.
“I am sure you will all agree that all the cakes made by our staff looked amazing.”
