A RENOWNED comedian, mental health activist and author is set to offer help to negotiate the hectic modern world when she returns to Oswestry.

Ruby Wax will promote the paperback version of her book, How to Be Human, at the Lion Quays Hotel on Tuesday, Janurary 15.

In How to Be Human, Ruby enlists the help of a monk to tell us how our minds work, and a neuroscientist to tell us how our brains work.

The book is filled with anecdotes from Ruby's life, backed up by science and mindfulness technques.

A spokesman for event organisers Booka Bookshop said: "We're thrilled Ruby Wax is returning to Oswestry for the paperback publication of How to Be Human.

"Don't miss this chance to see her and pick up your copy of this wise, practical and funny handbook on life."

Ruby, best known for her decades of TV comedy work, last visited Oswestry to promote her book Frazzled, a year after she had to postpone an event in the town after the death of actor Alan Rickman, who was a close friend.

Doors open at 6.45 and the show starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £15, including a signed paperback copy of How to Be Human, from Booka or online (which icludes a booking fee) at: http://www.bookabookshop.co.uk/events/an-evening-with-ruby-wax/
