Second Ellesmere Brownies and their Christmas Appeal have beaten all previous targets and have filled a record number of shoe boxes with festive treats.
Last year Brownies filled 35 boxes with an assortment of Christmas food which goes towards the foodbank.
This year with 20 girls they surpassed themselves with a staggering 48 boxes.
Caroline Ford, leader of the unit which meets on Mondays, said: “As leaders we are totally blown away by the generosity and compassion shown by Brownies and parents.
“Our very grateful thanks to parents and Brownies for upholding their promise to serve their communities. Upholding the Brownie Guide law: to think of others before themselves and do a good turn every day.”
The foodbank received the boxes and explained how the gifts would be distributed and how grateful they were to young people for caring and demonstrating their promise in action.
