A CHURCH school has been praised for its high standard of religious education.
Whitchurch C of E Infant School has received the Gold RE Quality Mark, which is awarded for "excellent, creative and innovative practice" in the school and wider community.
Deputy headteacher Julie Rowlandson said: "We are delighted that the school has been recognised for our hard work and commitment to being a Church school."
The assessor praised the school's methods of "maximising children's learning experience of the worls in a safe and developmental approach".
It was also hailed for its use of painting, music and drama to "build spiritual, moral, social and cultural awareness".
The assessor added that the school "demonstrates effective links with the wider RE communities".
