There will be a touch of Hollywood at the next comedy line-up for 'Live at the Civic' as world-renowned comic Omid Djalili was announced as headline.

The popular comic, who is also an acclaimed Hollywood actor having appeared in the likes of Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, Gladiator and Sex In The City, will top the bill at the next popular night on Saturday, January 26.

Djalili will be supported by two acts tipped for super stardom who have both recently appeared on live TV stand-up on Comedy Central in the shape of Stephen Bailey and Rosie Jones.

It will be hosted by resident MC Wayne Beese.

Tickets went on public sale this afternoon and are expected to be snapped up quickly.

Organisers Funny Beeseness moved quickly to put on another date after Mock The Week and Live At The Apollo star Milton Jones, supported by Paul Thorne and Eddy Brimson, wowed a sell-out crowd at the first event last Friday night.

The crowd of nearly 400 is believed to be the biggest the Civic has ever had for any entertainment event.

Wayne revealed the shows would now be a regular thing at the venue, with further dates next year in March, June, September and December.

“We’ve had such good feedback since the first night with Milton Jones that it became a bit of a no-brainer,” he said.

“It’s an absolutely fantastic venue for live comedy and there is clearly a demand for it.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have secured Omid to headline the next one. He’s an icon in British comedy and we’re sure he’ll draw just a big a crowd to Sutton as Milton Jones did.

“The two support acts are both brilliant too – Stephen and Rosie are both just breaking into telly and you can expect to see a lot more of them in the coming years.

“All in all it promises to be another killer night of live stand-up, and we would urge people to snap up tickets quickly before they all run out.”

Tickets range from £18.50 to £22 and are available at www.funnybeeseness.co.uk
