Whitchurch's Leonard Brothers Veterinary Centre has welcomed a new surgeon to help the business stay at the cutting edge of treatment.

Lucy Mills, who has moved from the south of England to Whitchurch, is the newest member of the centre's veterinary surgeon team, which is based in Brownlow Street.

Practice manager Nicky Smith says Lucy's arrival means the centre can provide a wider range of services and looks forward to working with her.

She said: "Lucy recently moved to the area from Surrey where she had been working in small animal practice since qualifying from the Royal Veterinary College in 2007.

"She gained her certificate in cardiology in 2013 allowing her to take on internal referrals for heart cases.

"Cardiac disease is a fairly common condition in our patients so it’s great to have Lucy now working at Leonard Brothers.

"Lucy will mainly work at our Whitchurch practice and will be introducing laparoscopic/keyhole surgery to Whitchurch shortly."
