Only a few tickets are left for a new night of comedy in Whitchurch this weekend featuring TV comic Milton Jones.

The one-liner act, who has appeared on the likes of Mock The Week and Live At The Apollo, will take centre stage at Whitchurch Civic Centre on Friday.

There are only around 20 tickets left for the “Live At The Civic” show, which looks set to sell out.

It has sold so well organisers plan to run the event quarterly and have already lined up another TV heavyweight – to be announced on Saturday – to appear in January.

On Friday, Jones will be supported on the night by Paul Thorne, a veteran headliner at the Comedy Store who has gigged all over the world in a glittering career, and former English Comedian of the Year finalist Eddy Brimson.

It will be hosted by Wayne Beese, whose company Funny Beeseness are putting on the shows.

Beese said: “We’re really excited to be expanding our little empire into Whitchurch.

“Getting an act of Milton’s stature to headline our opening night is a massive statement of intent and we’re absolutely delighted with how well it’s sold and how much support we have had.

“Hopefully people will snap up the last few tickets and we can start with a full house.

“We want to bring more big names to the town.”

Doors will open at 7pm on the night, with the show starting at around 8pm.

Tickets range in price from £18.50 to £22 and are available at www.funnybeeseness.co.uk
