YOUNGSTERS from Whitchurch have enjoyed a visit to the Big Apple.
Students and staff from Sir John Talbot's School embarked on a half-term adventure in New York.
They visited a host of attractions including Times Square, the World Trade Centre memorial, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Brooklyn Bridge.
They also listened to an NYPD officer’s poignant memories of 9/11 at the memorial.
The visits to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island allowed students to gather a knowledge of the history of the United States.
David O’Toole, headteacher of Sir John Talbot’s School, said: “This was a fantastic trip and it was wonderful to combine with the Marches School to take the students on a cross-trust trip. It took the students out of their comfort zone and educated them in the history of one of the most recognisable places in the world”.
They were joined on the trip by pupils and staff from Marches School in Oswestry.
