Shropshire Wildlife Trust is holding three drop-in events at Whitchurch Alderford' s lake in the build-up to Christmas.

Starting on November 25 with the Bird Feeders and Nestboxes, there are two events in December also.

First up is the bird feeder event where anyone wishing to attend can drop in to the Shropshire Wildlife Trust pod at Alderford to make nestboxes to suit every species, and bird feeders from natural and recycled materials.

The event runs from 10am until 4.30pm and is free though a donation on the day would be welcomed by the Trust.

Then on Saturday, December 1 there is the 'Garden birds – walk, talk and tea' event, which will start at the cafe at the popular Whitchurch destination.

It will run from 1.30-4.30pm and costs £7.50 per person, but is suitable for beginners.

All dogs must be kept on a lead.

On Sunday, December 16 there will be a drop-in session for residents on how to prepare for Christmas with Dr Cath Price, who will be showing people how to make their decorations using natural materials.

The session runs from 10am until 4.30pm and attendees are asked to meet at the Trust's pod at the lake.

The event is free but the Trust would welcome a donation.

It is suited to people with limited mobility and there is wheelchair access. If you want to book or find out more, email Dr Price on cathp@shropshirewildlifetrust.org.uk
