Wem Town Hall will be holding a Dementia friendly showing of 'Oh What A Lovely War!' on November 5 as part of the Wilfred Owen 100 events.

The musical, which sees the working class Smiths change their initially sunny views on the First World War after the three boys of the family witness the harsh reality of trench warfare, will be shown at 1.30pm.

Directed by Richard Attenborough – in his debut film – it has a stellar cast including Maggie Smith, Dirk Bogarde, John Gielgud, John Mills, Kenneth More, Laurence Olivier, Jack Hawkins, Corin Redgrave, Michael Redgrave, Vanessa Redgrave, Ralph Richardson, among others.

The screening will last three hours, including an interval, and all carers are invbited to watch too.
