The WEM Harvest Market proved to be another successful weekend as hundreds of people flocked to to the town last weekend.
There were more than 60 stalls in Wem Town Hall, Wem Senior Club, and Wem Baptist Church.
Shelagh Richardson, from Wem Civic Society, said: "The bright sunshine attracted a steady stream of shoppers resulting in a busy morning for traders and organisers.
"Traders reported a profitable market and were booking for the next market (Spring Market – April 6, 2019). There were a number of new traders including Sofia’s Brigaderos, a Brazilian confection that proved popular with Wemians; GourmEgg, as it sounds gourmet Scotch Eggs, and Oomeo providing soothing salves for human and canine.
"One of the Co-op Hampers made up of food from abroad, was won by a trader, Andy Price of GormEgg. Riverford Organic Farmers’ Fruit and Vegetable Box was won by Mike Begley.
"Wem mayor Councillor Connie Granger, drew the winning tickets and thanked everyone involved in the successful market, including the main sponsors, Wem Co-op and Riverford."
Wem Harvest & Spring Markets are organised by Wem Combine Harvesters (made up of Incredible Edible in Wem, Wem Civic Society, Wem & District Garden Club).
