A WHITCHURCH youngster has taken a big step in life to donate her long locks to charity after being sponsored to have her hair cut.
Maddie Crabb, who is seven years old and from Whitchurch, had her hair cut off at the Headquarters salon, in Mill Street, last Saturday morning at 10.30am.
The youngster has donated her hair in aid of the Little Princess Trust – a charity that takes hair from people from young people like Maddie.
The charity then turns it into wigs for children who have lost hair as a result of cancer treatment.
Her mum, Sarah Crabb, said she could not be any prouder of her daughter.
She added: “I think it’s an amazing thing what she’s doing; she knows her hair will grow back, whereas some children aren’t so lucky.
“It’s being very well supported – we’ve raised more than £500 with donations from friends, family and parents at the school she attends.
“She’s such an amazing girl, I’m really proud of her, everyone in the family is really.”
