Swimmers in the villages around Malpas can be given the chance to follow world star Adam Peaty into the Olympics with the setting up of a swim school in Threapwood.

The school will be set up by one member of Whitchurch Wasps, Dan Turner, who will be giving lessons from The Greaves in Threapwood in the autumn.

The swimmer, who is a regular at the Wasps, admitted he is delighted to be helping to identify any future swimming stars when the course gets going.

"I am really excited to announce that I will soon be providing swimming lessons at this stunning pool at The Greaves, Greaves Lane, Threapwood, Malpas," he said.

"I am a qualified swimming teacher with a background in competitive swimming. I am also a coach with a local swim club who my children currently train and compete with.

"Lessons will commence mid-October, though the date is yet-to-be confirmed, and will be held Monday-Friday from 4-6pm.

"The cost will be £6 per lesson, but I can promise that group numbers will be kept small and one-to-one sessions will be available on request.

"If you are interested in booking a lesson, please message me with the age of your child and the level they are currently at with their swimming.

"If you would like to discuss anything with me, email me a contact number for yourselves and I will get back to you."
