The Ellesmere Classic Car Show in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support goes ahead on July 15 at the Cremorne Gardens where in excess of 100 vehicles will attend.

Organiser Tim Hunter is hoping with the support of exhibitors and local traders to raise a significant contribution for this worthwhile cause. The event is sponsored by Oswestry Classic Car Garage and supported by local traders and organisations.

Proud sponsors of the event, Simon Darlington, one of the directors of Oswestry Classic Car Garage, said: “This community event gives people the chance to see beautiful cars from all ages and owners a chance to show off their pride and joy while raising money for a most worthy course. Our staff are looking forward to the event where they hope to be able to show their latest project; an Austin Healey 100 which is undergoing full restoration.”

Vehicles attending include vintage pre-war cars through to modern classics as well as a good number of classic motor cycles.

Awards will be given for the driver’s car of show, the public’s car of show and also the car driven the longest way for the show.

Tim said: “Last year we had sponsors from the local community such as The Red Lion Coaching Inn, Tesco, The Boat at Erbistock, Browns Hairdressers, Body and Soul, Lily the Pink, Lion Quays, Val’s tearoom and the White Horse LLansair DC.”

“We hope to have a wonderful raffle again this year and thank everyone who has contributed to make it possible. If you would like to donate a prize please get in touch”

A licensed alcoholic bar, gourmet sausage stall, cake stalls, ice cream, tea and coffee stands will be on hand to keep everyone refreshed. The ‘Ellesmere Carnival Committee’ will sell sandwiches to help fund the Ellesmere Carnival event held later in the year.

There will also be local craft stalls, antique stalls, auto jumble, face painting and games so something for everyone to enjoy at this wonderful setting of the Cremorne Gardens on the banks of the Mere.

Entries are now complete but any further interested owners can contact Tim Hunter at or telephone 01691 661888 in case of cancellation.
