The GREAT and good of Shropshire cricket were at Wem Cricket Club on Sunday to take part in a match remembering Brian Perry, a stalwart of the Kynaston Road Ground.
The day was MC by Radio 4's Sybil Ruscoe, who admitted her pride at being to celebrate Brian's life, with two sides coming together to play in a hard game of cricket.
The highlight of the day was the unveiling of a portrait of Brian by artist Ali Limerick, with officials at the club delighted by the response.
In a statement on Twitter, it said: "Wem CC would like to thank everyone who attended the Brian Perry memorial game..and in doing so clearly demonstrated how much he was loved and is missed."
