A doctor at the Orthopaedic Hospital has roped in a grammy-nominated singer to perform at a fundraising dinner dance.

Dr Ayman Askari, consultant rheumatologist at the hospital, has organised an evening of ‘fun, music, dinner and dance’ at the Albright Hussey Manor in Shrewsbury.

Taking place on Friday, May 25, grammy–nominated and London International Jazz Singer of the Year, Sacha Boutrous and her band will be performing at the event, which is taking place in aid of the Orthopaedic Institute Rheumatology Educational Fund. The fund pays for providing training and education for staff.

Dr Askari said the dinner dance “promises to be a fantastic night”.

He said: “I’m very much looking forward to the event, it’s sure to be a fantastic night of fun, food and top-notch entertainment from the superb Sacha Boutrous and her band.

“It will be a fantastic night, in aid of a really fantastic cause.

“Over the past few years, I’ve held a couple of these sort of fundraising events and they’ve always been brilliant so far.”

Debra Alexander, fundraiser for the Orthopaedic Institute, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that Dr Askari is once again raising funds for Rheumatology education by hosting this upcoming evening.

“Based on previous events he’s organised, I’m certain it will be a brilliant night. I know Sacha Boutrous and her band will be absolutely wonderful.”

The event starts at 6.30pm and tickets cost £40 each, which includes a reception drink on the terrace beforehand, followed by a three course dinner and the entertainment.
