Police in Whitchurch are appealing for information following an attempted burglary at a house in the town.

The property in Wayland was targeted overnight between Sunday, February 25 and Monday, February 26 when an offender or offenders tried to force open the front living room window. No entry gained.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111 quoting incident number 0091S 260218.

Meanwhile, police are investigating a burglary at a house in Neufchatel Close in Whitchurch which happened between 11.30am and 7pm on Thursday, February 22.

A spokesperson for Whitchurch police said: "Offender/s have gained access to the rear garden and forced open a window on the conservatory. Once entry was gained into the conservatory the offenders have attempted to force the patio door open which resulted in the window being smashed in the door. Entry has then been gained into the house. Jewellery and cash stolen from within."

And the wheel nuts were removed from a vehicle parked in Brookfield in Whitchurch between midday on Wednesday, February 21 and midday, Thursday, February 22 (0192S 250218).
