WHITCHURCH Alport are delighted to have secured the signing of highly- respected teenager Luke Walley.

Luke is a second-year scholar at Crewe Alexandra and has a bright future ahead of him.

The youngster, who made his debut against Bacup on Saturday, becomes the club’s first loan signing from a Football League club in more than 30 years, and co-manager Carl Everall was thrilled that Luke had decided to join the Reds Revolution.

“I want to thank Lee Bell and Paul Anthrobus at the Alex for all their help in getting this loan pushed through,” said Everall.

“Their help has been invaluable and this is a coup for our football club – make no mistake about it.

“Luke is a highly-gifted player who has a natural ability to score goals and his pace is frightening.

“His development through the Crewe academies has moulded him into exactly the type of player Luke and I want to bring to Whitchurch Alport.

“The fans will love watching him play and this is another really exciting young player we’ve added to our fold.

“We want to give youngsters a chance here, not just build a side as a ‘one-season wonder’ and have to rebuild again in the summer.

“Luke will be well coached here and we hope this is the start of a relationship between ourselves and Crewe Alexandra.

“It’s important to us they know we’ll look after their players and help in their development in the time they’re with us.

“Luke will settle really quickly.”
