Councillors in Wem have been learning more about the benefits of 20mph zones.
Four members attended a conference in Shrewsbury which featured speakers talking about why speed limits should be reduced in urban areas.
The conference coincided with a plea to Wem Town Council to extend its 20mph zone by residents.
Councillors at last Thursday’s meeting said they supported the proposal in principal, but would wait for a report at the October meeting from those who attended the conference.
The 20s Plenty For Us campaign was rejected by Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia, John Campion, earlier this year.
