Tom Dascombe is set to launch a two-pronged attack on All-Weather Championships Finals Day at Lingfield on Good Friday.

The Malpas trainer - based at the Manor House Stables yard which is co-owned by former England striker Michael Owen - has two leading chances in the now traditional Easter fixture, with Kachy the pick in the £150,000 All-Weather Sprint Championships (3.05) over six furlongs. The five-year-old has been handed a decent draw in stall five.

Dascombe also runs Arcanada, who has enjoyed three unbeaten starts this winter, in the All-Weather Mile (4.10) where he is second favourite behind Second Thought from the William Haggas yard.

Kachy broke the course and distance record at Lingfield when making a winning polytrack debut and followed up by landing the Listed Betway Cleves Stakes last month under a terrific ride from stable jockey Richard Kingscote.

Arcanada narrowly got the better of Mr Owen in a conditions race at Wolverhampton in early February and is unbeaten in his two starts at Lingfield.

Dascombe told awchampionships.co.uk: “Kachy has had a nice preparation since his win in the Cleves Stakes. He is in good shape, moving well and everything is fine.

“He just appears to enjoy going left-handed. His best runs have been against the left rail at Goodwood, Chester, where he won as a three-year-old, and more recently Lingfield.

“He looks to have an obvious chance. We are hoping for a reasonable draw and then we will see where we go from there.

“Arcanada looks fantastic at the moment. He has improved with literally every run of his life and I don’t see why he can’t find another pound or two later this week. He is probably going to need to find another pound or two to beat Second Thought and the like, but he is going into the race in really good shape.”

Kingscote will ride both Dascombe's runners on Friday, with both six of the seven Lingfield races being shown live on ITV4.
