Wellington 3
Ellesmere Rangers 0
Ellesmere’s title ambitions were further derailed on Saturday when they suffered an unexpected defeat to mid-table Wellington.
The Meremen were looking to bounce back following a 2-1 defeat to league leaders Wolverhampton Sporting Community.
But any hopes were dashed when they shipped three goals without reply to the Telford side eight points behind them in the table.
The defeat leaves them seven points behind Community in top spot who, along with Tividale, have three games in hand on the Beech Grove men.
On Saturday, Ellesmere will look to avoid a third straight league defeat when they host Wellington Amateurs at 3pm.
Division One
St Martins return to action this week when they host Allscott for a 3pm kick-off at The Venue. The Saints will be looking to keep up their recent good form as they try to work their way up the Division One table.
