VAUXHALL MOTORS are anxious to turn their season around with a league victory tomorrow at third-bottom Gainsborough Trinity.
Motors boss Carl Macauley has been disappointed with a string of defeats as his side remain second from bottom in the league table.
The Motormen prepare for their trip to Lincolnshire on the back of a 1-0 midweek defeat at Woodley Sports in the Cheshire FA Senior Cup quarter-finals.
Defender Chris Lane, Josh Wilson and Brian Moogan are all expected to feature for Motors tomorrow, alongside new signing Jon Bathurst, and Karl Noon who squandered a few goalscoring chances on Tuesday.
But Vauxhall will be without Keith Smith who is sidelined due to an injury.
Motors will face a Trinity side managed by ex-Wrexham boss Brian Little, who has appointed former Chester and Wrexham veteran goalkeeper Gavin Ward as his assistant.
The 39-year-old played under Little at Leicester, Stoke and Wrexham and has been at Zamaretto League side Hednesford Town this season.
Little said: “He will be a big help around the place, with the goalkeepers here and also to me. It will be good to have someone who knows how I’ve dealt with things over the years talking to me.”
Little is aiming to assemble a side of players largely based locally, but admitted he had made an exception in Ward’s case.
“Gavin and I will travel together so we won’t just have a couple of hours a week here at the club, but several hours together in the car,” said Little.
“It will extend the amount of conversation I have with someone alongside me, which I’ve felt I've needed in recent weeks.
“Everything has been my thoughts, my decisions, so it will be nice to have someone there pointing out how I’ve dealt with situations in the past." “
League leaders Southport will be attempting to bounce back after their midweek FA Trophy replay defeat at Gainsborough Trinity.
The Sandgrounders travel to Hinckley United tomorrow, while second placed Eastwood Town travel to Redditch United, and Fleetwood Town in third spot play host to Stafford Rangers.
High-flying Droylsden travel to Corby, and Stalybridge Celtic face a trip to Blyth Spartans, while Northwich Victoria entertain AFC Telford, and bottom club Harrogate Town face Gloucester City.
Struggling Hyde United entertain Farsley Celtic, while Workington travel to Ilkeston Town, and Solihull Moors play host to Alfreton Town.
