THE FIRST meeting of the banger racing season arrives this weekend at Prestatyn’s Coastal Raceway.

The 12noon start on Sunday, April 29 kicks off an action packed day of racing, with the annual 1400cc Banger 'Patshifter' race topping the bill, featuring full contact racing in small cars.

There is also the prospect of some Pre 1970 machinery in action, as well as the new look non contact formula lineup, comprising of the all new 'Production Rods', the 'GT Rods', and the high powered 'Super Rods'.

Club juniors are also in action, as well as the ever popular light contact Push&Spin formula, where bookings are looking promising.

A team from the Coastal Raceway also did the buisness at the annual England versus Wales team race at the Belle Vue stadium in Manchester.

Welsh captain Dan Buckley lead the race from start to finish in an all action encounter, which doubled as the opening race for the King Of The North event for 2ltr Bangers, one of the biggest meetings of the year.

All of the Welsh team did brilliantly and continued to feature strongly throughout the afternoons racing.
